On June 15 Old Town San Diego will come alive with the patriotic spirit of Flag Day as the Mormon Battalion Historic Site hosts the celebration “Honoring the Legacy of Sacrifice.” This event, free and open to the public, promises to be a memorable occasion dedicated to honoring the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation. The highlight of the evening will be a stirring performance by the Marine Band San Diego.

The site commemorates the Mormon Battalion, a group of 500 Latter-day Saints who enlisted to serve in the U.S. Army during the Mexican-American War, exemplifying patriotism and service.
